Long week--short weekend

I am sooo tired! The school week seemed to drag by as we graded the MAP study guide and prepared for testing next week (T/W/Th). This week will be crazy busy and my schedule will be all messed up. The concrete floors are really getting to me. Luckily, my principal hired a sub to wander around my room during testing, just so I could keep my feet propped up. How nice is that? Tobin was kind enough to go to the store and buy a plastic tub so I didn't have to prop up on the kitchen counter again for my Epsom salt foot bath! haha My ankles thank him and so do I!!

We made up our first snow day yesterday. The school day started at the normal time, but the students were released at 12:45 or so. The secretaries said that we had 70% attendance, but it sure seemed like there were tons missing. I had anywhere from 9-15 missing from each class. I went ahead and reviewed for the state tests, like it was any other day, but will have to do the same lesson plan all over again for the others. The students seemed to think it should be some kind of "play day" since it was a Saturday. If we (8th gr. science) weren't going 1st on state tests, I would have done something fun. Instead, I was the hardcore teacher and they played games in other classes, from what I hear.
So, I haven't been to the gym much, but I have watched my diet more closely. This is what Tobin and I cut up for snacks this week. I have found that I am getting more and more tired though. I have had way more energy during most of the second trimester, but that seems to be waning. I came home from school yesterday, after a quick lunch with two teacher friends, and took a 3 hour nap!!! That was a good thing because we had to be back @ the high school for a senior class fundraiser by 7 pm. It was called Trivia Night and Tobin and I were on a team with 8 others, mostly middle school teachers and their spouses. There were 10 sets of 10 questions and each group answered as many as they could. The emcee added up the points and they kept a running total. It was a fun activity, but most of all it was a donation to Project Graduation for the senior class. We got home about 9:45 pm. I was exhausted! We still made it to church today and then a little shopping @ the mall, after lunch at Ruby Tuesday! However, it is back to work tomorrow!! My calendar is never this busy!!

Well, the belly is definitely growing! I have been feeling him kick A LOT lately and sometimes it is fairly hard! Tobin can clearly see it. We both think it's soooo cool to see, especially right after dinner and right before bedtime, but it also makes us just want him here.
He is about 14 inches long and almost 2 lbs. I can't imagine how he has any space in there, yet he still has 3.5 months to grow!
Update on the insurance situation: I spoke with my nurse and she said that my doctor has delivered up to 3 weeks early, in this very situation, several times, just to help people out. Many people find they have to switch around July 1st evidentally. As long as our baby is looking ready, he could set a delivery time during the last week on June. I will already be out of school for the summer and I'm sure I will be ready to see our son! I haven't spoken to him directly, but will at my next appt. on April 8th. I want to thank everyone that offered suggestions about what I should do concerning a possible switch to a new provider. I also have 3 great options for a pediatrician with St. John's now as well. Of course, the goal for me is to stay with my current doctor/network with the same level of coverage, but not necessarily the same company.

  2. I love the belly shot! You look so cute. I'm glad to hear you are checking into options for your health provider. That had to be a lot on your mind to deal with.

  3. Wow you are doing so good with your eating! I am not that disciplined. It will pay off for you though. And love your belly pics!

  4. AMy, it is still a waiting game to see what provider we go with as a district. But, you're right, I have come to a peace about it and stopped stressing, for now. :)

Thanks Jenni and Tanya! The belly is getting bigger and harder, I've noticed. Jenni, I have to admit that I am not always that disciplined with eating, but I do love my fruits and veggies...AND ice cream !!!

  5. Good job with cutting up all the nutritional food. Trai and I keep talking about doing it, but we haven't yet! :) What happened to the bare belly shots? JK. I don't know if I would want to post them on my blog either with all the crazies out there! :)

  6. I'm so impressed that you have a sub during MAP testing. That is so nice!!!! We start all that fun next week. Fortunately, I don't have to give a test. However, I have to monitor the seniors...who are mad they have to come to school during the testing when there is nothing to do. I'm really looking forward to it. ;)

  7. Holly,

You look great! We are almost there! ;) So exciting! We have the nursery done and I am still trying to finish up Sydney's new room. My computer is down, so I will try and bring pictures to your shower of both rooms. Once we get it back up, I will start posting again. I may need your help on this blogging set up.....I am new at it ya know. ;) I still would love for Tobin and Mark to meet sometime. I do think they would have a great time. Mark really wants to go canoeing this year with someone. Maybe you guys could come out sometime before the babies are here??? Thoughts?

Take care and good luck on the insurance situation.

    Robin :-)

  8. Love that belly!! So have you actually talked to your OB himself about moving the date up? Would he want to just induce you or schedule a c-section, or what is the method if he moves the date earlier??

  9. Kodi-I hate cutting up veggies, and Tobin does it at work all day, so neither one of wanted to do it. I'm glad we did though. As for the bare belly shots, I'm saving those for the scrapbook, rather than online. :)

Heather, wasn't that nice of RMcP? My ankles are completely gone and my skin puffs over my socks, so I sure do appreciate it.

Robin, thanks! You're almost done!I know we need to get the guys together. We need to set a date or it will never happen!

Mel, I talked to my nurse and she said that he DOES do that, but I need to talk to him personally about the details. She mentioned Potosin...???? May be one of those things that we decide closer to the ETA!

  10. Yep, what the nurse mentioned is what they give when the induce.

And hey, your are past the 100 day mark...only 98 days left. Woo hoo! I'm totally hoping for the early delivery...I don't want to miss this for anything!
