I can't believe my baby girl is almost six months old!!! She is almost too big to be nursed on the Boppy, 3-6 month clothes are barely fitting, and she now has two teeth. She has progressed from carrots to squash, and is now trying sweet potatoes. I can't say she is a fan of any of them. She'll take breastfeeding over any jar foods for some reason. Amy, our babysitter, puts the jar food directly into the breastmilk bottles during the day and that seems to work. She calls them smoothies and says it is a fool-proof way of getting both in her! I would have never thought of doing that! Her personality is really forming now as she smiles and even giggles all the time. Daddy videotaped some fun times last night. Tanner decided to climb up on the pillows of the couch and ride them like a horse right next to me. I had Kinsey on my lap and since she watches everything he does, she didn't miss his silly antics! She was outright giggling loudly! It was soooo cute!
Speaking of of the two of them, Tanner has really come a long way since Kinsey first arrived on the scene. He cried his head off every time he looked at her initially, then just stopped looking at her at all! Now, he brings her blankets or toys if she is crying. Anything he sees that is pink is associated with her. One of the first things he says of a morning is, "baby?" This morning, I was nursing her in bed and listening/watching him on the video monitor. He was standing in his crib, looking toward the door saying, "Moooorning!" It got louder and louder. I was cracking up!! The picture to the right has a silly story behind it. Tanner insisted on playing with the rectal thermometer one day. He ran into the living room with it saying, "Baaaaaaabeeeee!!!" He kept showing it to her and saying some string of
gibberish. I ran to get the camera to get a picture of him holding the thermometer out to her. By the time I got the camera on and positioned, the thermometer was in her mouth, which I DID NOT see coming for some reason!!
Most of my day, when not at work, is spent trying to keep them both clean, fed, and happy. The entire night flies by with unpacking the diaper bags and repacking them for the next day, picking out clothes for both babies and myself for

the next day, unloading the dishwasher and reloading, moving washing machine items to dryer and starting another load, dinners (Tobin does this part) and clean up, baths for babies (he does this part, too), playtime and book reading, and packing lunches for all of us for the next day. Of course, I have to stop and feed her a few times during all that and during that time I play on Facebook as my stress relief. Then, the next thing you know, it is 9pm and time to get ready for bed! Ugggggh.
Tobin is doing well and even though deer season is FINALLY over, he still shoots his new bow in the backyard. He is proud to now have a recurve bow, "stick n string" he calls it. I guess that is his stress relief. He also hangs in the garage (his cave) and watches hunting videos and piddles around. He is absolutely amazing with the kids and couldn't be a better Daddy. He is head over heels for Kinsey! I was recently telling him about how my students fight over the front seat and yell "shotgun" then bicker about who called it first and such.
said that won't be a problem with us because it was a given that he and Tanner, being the men, get the front seat and Baby K and I will sit in the back!!! What?! lol!! Guaranteed, the first time he hears, "Daddy, I want to sit by you!" from Kinsey, that whole theory will be out the window!!!!!!!!!

I was hesitant because we are heading into MAP review state testing and the highly anticipated sex ed chapter. I also have control issues when it comes to how the content in my class is taught. I have seen the test
many times and know what they need to know and I also don't like them to learn incorrect science. He convinced me that the time off would be good and I didn't have to leave the room if I didn't want to. That is hard because if I stay in the room and she isn't handling the class well, or says something incorrect, or puts up with any disrespect without nipping it in the bud, I feel a great need to step in and handle it for her. I know she will need to learn on her own to sink or swim. Guess it's better that I just leave. Maybe I can work on the baby books in the library!!! Maybe I can scrapbook! This may be a good thing....
