Bring on the flower planting!!

Anyone that has kept up with this blog knows I get bored with my backgrounds! Just imagine how often I change my desktop background!

Anyhoo, we got some great news this weekend! We had our roof analyzed, an insurance adjustor came over, and we got approved for...not only a new roof, but new seamless guttering, downspouts, and painted ceilings on the interior! No
money out of pocket whatsoever! Not even a deductible! WHOOOHOO! I love new stuff. I am soooo excited to get some flowers planted. I want some color around this house!
I had school this past Saturday, but only for a half day. Pretty worthless, except for the fact that we were done by 1:00 and it counts for a full day. Monday rolled around too suddenly, then I had to work a track meet tonight, so I am pooped!

Now that I am almost to 30 weeks (this Thursday), I am thinking that maybe I should take some classes at the hospital...some "get ready and get prepared" type classes.....tour the special delivery floor and all....I am starting to feel like I am not prepared for this monumental task that lies ahead of me! The closer I get to "D-Day" the more terrified I get. A friend pointed out recently that I am probably more prepared NOW than my friends that had babies 10-15 years ago, and I imagine that is true, but now I am more stuck in my ways. I guess God will change what needs to be changed and put me into the right perspective.

I know, I know....

I haven't blogged in ages and I have so much to blog about! Considering everything that has happened since my last post, I could probably post 5 different posts tonight, but it is all I have to force myself to do this. I am so tired and overwhelmed by the slightest things! I barely laid down on the couch earlier and fell asleep for 1.5 hours. I didn't mean to do that because I have a lot to do!

So, in a nutshell:
1. Tobin and I finally bit the bullet and way over-purchased on a LazyBoy rocker/recliner in which I can rock Tanner, when needed. It is really dual-purpose as we needed another seating area in the living room. For now, I call it Tobin's "man-chair" because it is what he has always wanted and fits his height really well.

2. My sister and nephews were here for one week and I was out at my parents every night, but one. It was so good to see them since it had been since Christmas! We shared lots of good times and actually accomplished a lot on my end too. Mel helped me organize the massive amount of clothes that Tanner already has awaiting him.
I hung the newborn/0--3 mo stuff in his closet and had to buy plastic bins for the 3-6 mo, 6-9 mo, 12-18 mo, and 18-24 month stuff! She also helped me redo my Target list for my school shower. Our son already has 25 sleepers in the newborn size!! It is definitely overwhelming because there are still so many things we need for simple day to day baby needs!

3. My first baby shower was a HUGE success and sooooo much fun. It was very cool to have so many special people all in the same place. There were so many people there and I wish I could have visited with each person more, but I felt so much stress just getting through the awesome gifts without making people sit around forever. I know that is the nature of the event, but I was so nervous that people had other things to do and I needed to hurry it along! Not to mention the fact that I have always been sitting in the crowd and never in the "mommy-to-be" chair (with a sash, I might add!) My 3 sisters and friends did so much work preparing food and getting everything organized, theme-decorated, and ready to make my day very special. It meant the world to me and was one of the most important days in my life! Thank you to those that sent gifts but couldn't attend, and for all the wonderful gifts and time spent with me on my special day. A special thanks to Trish for hosting it at her home! I promise to get the "thank you" cards out soon.

4. I have worked a lot on Tanner's room. It is getting organized, but I still have a ways to go. I would like to get shades installed and some theme painting accomplished in the next few weeks.

5. School is getting tiring, but I'm hanging in there. The insurance stuff is still up in the air and no decisions have been made. I have 28 days left, but no major objectives that HAVE to be met since the state tests are over with. The kids are getting the fever for going outdoors already, but I am going to hold them off as long as possible! Some time at the end of the month, my friends at work will throw me a baby shower! That will be a lot of fun!! Tobin will go to that one because I think he should and some of my good friends have never met him!

6. Our next Dr. appt, on May 6th, will be the second and last ultrasound. I am looking forward to that since he is SO much bigger. He hangs out "sideways" most of the time, from the right side, right under my ribs, to the left side, right under and to the left of my belly button. I can usually feel his head and rear end at most times. I also had a horrendous case of indigestion recently that kept me from falling asleep for 3 hours! It hurt so badly that I wanted to go to the ER!

7. Tobin has been enjoying his free time lately. If he isn't performing a "honey-do" like assembling baby stuff, then he is playing golf several times in one week, or at the driving range, or on a float trip. He was on his annual 4-day float this past weekend in Arkansas. You think he is trying to fit it all in before the baby gets here? He went on another a few weeks before that, right after all those heavy rains, and saved some kid's life that got flipped out of his canoe and then pinned up against a log with the canoe pressing against his chest. He said he wasn't going to risk his own life to do it, because he wants to be a husband and a dad, but he was able to help out without putting himself in too much danger.

Well, bad storms are headed this way and I am headed to bed.....more later!

Excitement all around!

The M.A.P. state tests are finally over for science!!!!!!!!
YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I cannot explain the feeling, or weight lifted! I'm sure the students agree, but they also still have English and Math tests to survive! I also don't want them to be under the impression that nothing needs to be, or will be, learned for the next month and a half!

Above is my latest Tanner layout. I placed a few pics, face-down, so you could see where I will put Tanner pics. I really liked the purple colors on the patterned paper.

Tobin and I have received a couple of baby gifts this week, but I do not have pics of them yet. I will blog that after school this Saturday. Yes, another Saturday School. YUCK, but it must be done!

On another completely exciting note, my mom leaves tomorrow morning for Alabama. She will help Mel drive home all day on Saturday. I can't wait to see my sister and my sweet lil' nephews! All 3 of my sisters, and 3 great friends, are throwing us a baby shower this Sunday!

Near the end of the month, my friends at school are having one for us, too! SO much fun coming up!

Here are the little guys that I can't
wait to hug in about 48 hours!!! They will all be here for one week! Then, I won't see them again until this summer when Tanner is delivered!

I also had a doctor appt. this past Tuesday. It went well, and all measurements were fine. I am to only gain around 5 more pounds in the next 3 months. HAHAHAHA I'll do my best! I did have to drink the lemon-lime sugar drink and give blood. I haven't heard my results yet. They said they would call soon if I failed. I'll let ya know!

Opinions wanted

Anyone know anything about this product? Being a classroom teacher, I am definitely interested, but would love some personal feedback from someone who has actually researched, or better yet, used it.
I saw an advertisement and decided to read up about it. Theoretically, I think it sounds like a great idea! Realistically, I am a tad skeptical. Most of me thinks, "What could it hurt?" I even checked eBay and don't see why a used one would be a bad idea. So, all of you moms out there....give me your opinions please! :)

On another note, I managed to do one page before the weekend. I took a class at SG Saturday morning, but haven't finished the page, mostly because I can't find my teal inker and I refuse to buy another when I know it's around here somewhere! (The stubborn Taurus in me)
I started another, but can't seem to stay focused on the project...maybe here in a little bit.
I feel...grumpy tonight. I have no clue if it is related to the pregnancy or not. I do know that my legs and feet hurt and I didn't even teach today. Instead, I graded for about 4 hours. My belly feels stretched out and maxed out. I think Tanner is out of room. It feels like he can barely turn around. Hmmm...3 months to go AND grow? Is it normal to get tired again like I did during the 1st trimester? It is 7:28pm and I am trying to find reasons NOT to go to bed....
Side note: I have my Glucola test this Tuesday. The gestational diabetes test, that is. It will be hard to not eat an ice cream sandwich or some jellybeans Monday night. I'll be crazy busy all day Tuesday, so eating won't be an issue. My test is at 3pm though. Wish me luck!

Less than 100 days until delivery!!!

Oh my goodness! I have noticed this widget on other blogs and have been excited for them, but it really feels differently when it is ME facing this! LOL Too many emotions to describe here, but SCARED is definitely one of them. ANXIOUS is another!

This is a cute lil' outfit that a teacher friend, Cyndi, gave me yesterday. It is just so small and cute! It would have been perfect for my nephews as well, since their dad flies med evac. helicopters for the Army in the Flat Iron unit!

Tanner is now over 14 inches long and almost 2 pounds. He hangs on on my right side mostly and I can feel his head, I think, during the day fairly often. He is now putting on more weight and completing the development of his eyes. He is very active!
