Hunter @ the Farm

Brenda, Hunter, and I visited the Rutledge-Wilson Farm when it was nice on Thursday. The story is that the family, or families, died and left the property to the Park Board. It was a pretty fancy place. Everything was brand new looking, other than some old farm implements. I was a little surprised when I peered into the old homestead though. I expected to see some cool antiques! It appeared like they have transformed the main floor to animal stalls as there was straw all over the floor!
207 acres of farmland and 20 of that is preserved prairie. It will be neat to visit there and see the wildflowers next month.

Hunter enjoyed his time there. He made friends with a little black kitten. He seemed afraid of holding it or picking it up, but continually asked me to put it in his lap. It kept rubbing up against him and he thought that was funny! There was a school class there the day we were there. I guess they entertain kids on field trips. It is a great family-oriented place!
