I feel like I say this many times per day! As if I expect an answer. That would be nice, because the guessing game is NO fun! How do you know they have colic? Maybe he's just plain ole' fussy? I especially like it when daddy plays with him at bedtime and gets him all riled up. Then he puts him in the bassinet next to me, turns out the light, and then daddy goes to sleep with no problem. This would be the situation I dealt with last night. I snuck back to the bedroom and I was 90% asleep about 10:30pm, just barely aware of my surroundings, when a wide-eyed little boy was placed right next to me and wouldn't keep his binkie in his mouth, yet wanted it there for some reason! SO, that game lasted about 45 minutes. Then, it was a trial feeding at the breast, which put him to sleep, or so I thought. Long story short, we both got to sleep about 2am, only to wake up again around 4am for a feeding and breast pumping. Back to sleep about 5am and awakened again around 6:30 to a hungry lil' man. UGGGHHHH! I gave him to daddy about that time, and said "you're on your own," and went back to bed by myself. I slept for about 4 hours uninterrupted, only to wake up to two throbbing bowling balls on my chest. Sorry, that's probably too much information! But, I could hardly move without pain, so I had to get up and pump. Come to find out, daddy had tried everything under the sun to appease Tanner, other than vacuum and drive around the block. He had fed him, changed him, sang to him, rocked him, put him in the vibrating seat, put him in the swing, put him in the boppy inside the pack and play, kangaroo care, walking outside....The best part of that whole story is finding my sweet baby all dressed up by his daddy! He had not been able to wear this outfit yet because it is size newborn and he was in all preemie clothes. Maybe I'm a little biased, but isn't he just adorable!?
I have my post-partum dr. appt tomorrow. Ironically, tomorrow is Tanner's due date. I have no idea what time my appt is, so I will need to call early in the morning. Yes, Melody, I need to use a calendar....I know, I know....I should really do that because now it isn't just my schedule to keep track of, it is Tanner's too!
What a cute pic! Isn't it fun to dress babies up? And I bet Tobin was soo excited that the camo finally fit! The booties are a riot.... and YES, you must get into a calendar habit. I have tried to do a datebook setup and just can't seem to do it or drag it around places. Calendar on the wall works for me. love you!
