Sidenote: It is possible that I saw a smile that wasn't in response to gas, but more in response to my voice fluctuation. I am going to wait until I see it again before I write it in his baby book.
This could be related; I'll never know, but I called the doctor's office because he hasn't had a bowel movement since last Thursday when he received his vaccinations. I have tried giving him 1/4 tsp Karo syrup in his milk(old remedy), bicycling his legs, massaging his tummy, taking him off the rice cereal, giving him a warm bath...nothing has worked and he is in obvious constipation pain. So, they told me to lube up a thermometer and stick it in his hiney. I thought, oh great, just lovely. He'll love that! Tobin wasn't even home, so I had to go that job all by myself! Even if he had been, he would say that was a "mommy job." He likes to pull that card ever so often..."he needs his mommy for this or that." Well, the cold probe in the hiney hasn't worked either. I am currently waiting for the nurse to call back. She did say that breast milk is so perfect and chemically balanced for what they need, that his little body may be using all of it and he has nothing to excrete! Therefore, he wouldn't be constipated at all. That would be OK, but it wouldn't explain his turning red, straining, smelly toots, and general fussiness.
Here is Tanner is his big boy car seat right before he shot me the peace sign! LOL!
Hey the peace sign is cute, I can kinda see his two little fingers up!lol I hope he stops the night stuff before school starts! That would be tiring! TTYL

Just so you know I had two doctors strongly recommend not using Karo syrup. There have been cases of it causing paralysis.
ReplyDeleteI hope he gets his days and nights figured out soon! It's so hard when you aren't getting any sleep!
Love the peace sign picture...too cute!
