Silly Hunter page
Well, I finished this yesterday, but haven't gotten around to blogging lately. This is a simple layout of our nephew, but I used felt for the first time. I had to paint (well, a black sharpie and fingernail polish) the brads that look like screws. I can't decide if I should leave it alone or stitch around the big circles with the pic and journaling. I also thought of a big angled stitched swirly in the middle, but that takes away from the simplicity...Any thoughts?
---> AFTER...
We are taking it easy today and headed to a party tonight! I made snickers salad for my dish. It didn't make as much as I remember, so I must normally double it. Oh well, less to bring home, meaning less calories for me to consume! lolHappy 4th of July everyone!!
Lots of empty space for your usual style. I like it, it just seems very open, like it's not done I guess. Are all of the dots on the ribbon brads? I like the screw ones, and the journaling and pics are great! Stitching would help I think. Did you create this one on your own or swipe the layout from somewhere?
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mel! I feel that it is not done too, so I imagine I will do some kind of swirl thing in the middle....no brads...just a strip of polka dot paper. Got the idea from a layout that had only one "circle pic/journaling" and it was centered in the middle of the page with decreasing sized circle moving away from the main pic, straight up and straight down.
ReplyDeletei'm finding blank space to be good...although...i also find myself thinking i need to fill it up. so,maybe compromise and just go with something through the middle...something simple though. i have all these scrappin magazines, but i've found that i don't really use them. every now and then i'll start out with a page and say, Oh, I like that, but then I end up doing my own thing anyway. maybe someday i'll start scrapliftin more. i should, with all these magazine i get! :)which by the way, i still haven't received my simple scrapbooks...i'm about to get hacked off!
ReplyDeletethere you go...still space, but not too much! i thought it looked good the other way though too, but i know how it is to fight with blank space.
ReplyDeletewhat's this recipe for snickers salad...sounds like i might need to try it!
