If it's not one thing, it's another!

Over the weekend, Tanner developed some kind of eye infection. Our babysitter's son had the same thing, but over a week ago. I guess it could have incubated for awhile... John had pink eye and double ear infections. Hopefully I caught Tanner's early enough. He hasn't been pulling at his ears at all, but I noticed some yellowish-white gunk in the corner of his right eye when he woke up Saturday morning. Not knowing how contagious it was, I immediately wiped it out with my finger. This continued every 30 minutes or so, until I noticed a little puffiness. I called the on-call doc and was routed to the nurse in St. Louis! He has been especially needy and wants to be held a lot. He also sleeps WAY more than usual--three naps yesterday totaling over four hours! Upon the first call to the nurse, Tanner did not meet the criteria for eye drops. I, however, was told how to properly cleanse the eye and told to use VERY good hand-washing techniques. After another nap, he woke up with redness and a bloodshot-look in his right eye. I called in these symptoms and they called in the drops. As our financial luck would have it lately, our pharmacy was closed (we can only go to the pharmacy at Dillon's stores), so we had to have it called in to a Wal-greens, without insurance, and pay full price. I cannot say that he's much better yet, but at least the antibiotics will have been in his system 24 hours prior to work tomorrow. We simply cannot keep passing this stuff back and forth between babies! The poor little guys need a break!

  1. poor guy. i understand the feeling...Em was sick every 2-3 weeks for the first 2 years of her life. It's very exhausting for the baby, the parents, and the pocketbook!

I love those little swings. It was a sad day when Em outgrew hers.
