Tanner has a doctor appt. tomorrow, but it is with a new ped. I have never warmed up completely to his original pediatrician, and recently found out that he is switching to half days. I took that as my sign to switch to another doctor that I could get into easily and one that was not so hurried. I expect my doctor to be willing to answer any/all questions and not be flying out the door. I am the same with Tanner's doctor, if not more so. This evening I decided to call and ask the doctor if Tanner was taking in the right amount of nutrition for a 24 hour period. I read that babies his age drink 4-5 bottles per day and each bottle has 6-7 oz in it. Well, he is no where near that. He takes no more than 4 ounces per feeding and eats every 2-3 hours. Overnight, he has been sleeping up to 5 hours at a time, so he goes much longer then. The nurse said that he was doing great and getting the same amount. Not to worry at all. While on the phone, I asked the new nurse if she would listen to Tanner breathe over the phone...weird, I know. He has had the sniffles and has been very congested for about two weeks. We are constantly using saline drops and the aspirator. Tobin and I thought it was probably allergies. It hasn't gotten any better, so I brought it up while she seemed willing to answer my questions. She asked me a series of questions and decided that they needed to see Tanner in the morning. Luckily, Tobin and are both off tomorrow! So, more on that after his appointment.Tuesday, September 2, 2008
Pediatrician Switch...already!

go tanner go! hope you will like your new dr.
ReplyDeleteAwe so cute! and wow he really is ahead of the other babies. Preston also doesn't enjoy tummy time and cries through it. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments on my ER blog. Yes the binkie that they gave him is a gel-type one and you can stick your finger in it to hold it in his mouth. I loved it. Preston hates binkies. So I was excitedthat he actually liked this one.
Yep, all kids do things at different stages and in their own time. That is something to drill in your mind now so that you aren't constantly worrying later. The next couple years are full of new things and you can stress yourself out if your child isn't keeping up with another one. Luckily Tanner is ahead now. :)
ReplyDeleteI hope the doctor appt. went well. I hope he isn't on breathing treatments like Em was the first 2 years of her life.
Hey Holly! Such good news! Thanks for keeping me in the loop! I miss you, but I know you are very busy now:( Good Luck with the new pediatrician. Hope you like this one better. It's very important to have a good rapport with him/her. Take care...
ReplyDeleteLove ya
Hollie
Love the pic of the little guy pushing up! That is just great that he is so interested in movement already. You may want to start the babyproofing of the house early!!
