Today was my second and last ultrasound. My doctor appts are now going to be every 2 weeks for the next 2-3 visits, then weekly for the last month. During the ultrasound, all measurements were wonderful (even mine, he said) and he showed a week ahead of schedule which is still within the normal margin or error. This doesn't mean that he will come a week early at all; however, that would be lovely. He was extremely active, as I knew he would be, and kept looking all around! It was difficult to get a great view of him due to this, even on 3D. His hands were near his face most of the time, but we did get to see that he is definitely a boy! His lungs are not developed yet, but we saw the division between the abdomen and the diaphragm. He also has HUGE feet, so hopefully he will be tall! He sure inherits those genetics on his dad's side (Tob=6'3" and his bro=6'4"). The ultrasound tech seemed convinced that he has the profile and characteristics of Tobin, so we shall see.
My second and last baby shower is tomorrow and I'm looking forward to it! It will be at school with all of my teacher friends and co-workers! Tobin is going to attend this one as many of my friends at school have never met him. He is a little nervous as to his role at a baby shower, but I'm sure he'll do fine!
I think I may have experienced what is called Braxton-Hicks contractions last night. They hurt quite badly for about 10 seconds and had me doubled over. I mean I seriously could NOT stand up straight. I got a 3 minute break and then another round lasting about 10 seconds. Nothing since then.

Tobin has dinner ready, so more later!
Hey,
ReplyDeleteMy sis said you probably wouldnt be able to see him very well in the ultrasound because she couldnt see her baby very well, but thats cool that you could tell he would look like Tobin. Hey Abby! You are welcome to ask Mrs. W if you girls can come...I don't see why not...don't worry about a gift! That is sweet of you to think about it.
ReplyDeleteHey Holly! Sounds like you guys had a good appt. That is great!
ReplyDeleteAbby,
ReplyDeleteMy shower is tomorrow at 3:30 in the MS library.
Jacob is "outdoordude" or something like that. He hadn't posted anything as of 4th hour. I don't know if he wokrs on it from home...
Congrats on a good ultrasound! Love the pics of course. I am getting so excited to see my nephew! My first one!! What if Tricia has a boy too....geez. Dad won't have any granddaughters at this rate!
ReplyDeletehey holly! i wish i could make it to your shower today, but i tutor until 4 on wednesdays, then i have an appointment at 4:15. hope you have a good time. let me know a day when you want to get together after school. i got your myspace message last night, but didn't have time to message back. i will tonight:)
ReplyDeleteGlad your U/S went good. Whew you have some tall men on your husband's side of the family.
ReplyDeleteI haven't had any BH contractions. I am feeling left out. LOL
I love that last photo! The dogs all around you. I have a photo like that too and it's one of my faves. Times with the dogs sure change when the baby arrives, but that photo reminds me of how it used to be! :)
ReplyDeleteMel-thanks!
ReplyDeleteAmy-It's OK, thanks for the wishes and maybe I will get to see you soon!
Jenni-I don't know that they were B-H contractions for sure...my doctor said it could have been a bladder thing???? I just know it hurt!
Kodi-It makes me sad to think the dogs won't feel special, but I guess that will be where Tobin comes into play and hopefully gives them special attention. We actually have 4 pets!
You looks so cute in those pics! I need to get some black comfy pants like those. I can't breath when I put mine on! :)
ReplyDeleteWell thanks, Emily! So sweet of you to say so and good timing, I might add, since I am feeling HGE lately! Motherhood for the pants...$14.99 I think! I have worn the heck out of them! School and home lounging! lol
