So, in a nutshell:
2. My sister and nephews were here for one week and I was out at my parents every night, but one. It was so good to see them since it had been since Christmas! We shared lots of good times and actually accomplished a lot on my end too. Mel helped me organize the massive amount of clothes that Tanner already has awaiting him.
I hung the newborn/0--3 mo stuff in his closet and had to buy plastic bins for the 3-6 mo, 6-9 mo, 12-18 mo, and 18-24 month stuff! She also helped me redo my Target list for my school shower. Our son already has 25 sleepers in the newborn size!! It is definitely overwhelming because there are still so many things we need for simple day to day baby needs!
3. My first baby shower was a HUGE success and sooooo much fun. It was very cool to have so many special people all in the same place. There were so many people there and I wish I could have visited with each person more, but I felt so much stress just getting through the awesome gifts without making people sit around forever. I know that is the nature of the event, but I was so nervous that people had other things to do and I needed to hurry it along! Not to mention the fact that I have always been sitting in the crowd and never in the "mommy-to-be" chair (with a sash, I might add!) My 3 sisters and friends did so much work preparing food and getting everything organized, theme-decorated, and ready to make my day very special. It meant the world to me and was one of the most important days in my life! Thank you to those that sent gifts but couldn't attend, and for all the wonderful gifts and time spent with me on my special day.
A special thanks to Trish for hosting it at her home! I promise to get the "thank you" cards out soon. 4. I have worked a lot on Tanner's room. It is getting organized, but I still have a ways to go. I would like to get shades installed and some theme painting accomplished in the next few weeks.
5. School is getting tiring, but I'm hanging in there. The insurance stuff is still up in the air and no decisions have been made. I have 28 days left, but no major objectives that HAVE to be met since the state tests are over with. The kids are getting the fever for going outdoors already, but I am going to hold them off as long as possible! Some time at the end of the month, my friends at work will throw me a baby shower! That will be a lot of fun!! Tobin will go to that one because I think he should and some of my good friends have never met him!
6. Our next Dr. appt, on May 6th, will be the second and last ultrasound. I am looking forward to that since he is SO much bigger. He hangs out "sideways" most of the time, from the right side, right under my ribs, to the left side, right under and to the left of my belly button. I can usually feel his head and rear end at most times. I also had a horrendous case of indigestion recently that kept me from falling asleep for 3 hours! It hurt so badly that I wanted to go to the ER!
7. Tobin has been enjoying his free time lately. If he isn't performing a "honey-do" like assembling baby stuff, then he is playing golf several times in one week, or at the driving range, or on a float trip. He was on his annual 4-day float this past weekend in Arkansas. You think he is trying to fit it all in before the baby gets here? He went on another a few weeks before that, right after all those heavy rains, and saved some kid's life that got flipped out of his canoe and then pinned up against a log with the canoe pressing against his chest. He said he wasn't going to risk his own life to do it, because he wants to be a husband and a dad, but he was able to help out without putting himself in too much danger.
Well, bad storms are headed this way and I am headed to bed.....more later!
That chair looks fancy. You will love it long after you quit rocking Tanner!
ReplyDeletethis is jacob i hope you are doing ok. i am doing ok but i am very bored. i believe i will go turkey hunting saturday. it seems very weird that we have seen you develop this whole time and no one will get to see your actual baby i am very sad at that! i will have to stop by next year and see your baby. i am excited about the summer, but i am disapointed that i will not get to see Abby every day like i do during school, but we will get to see each other out of school alot this summer. i hope that your pregnancy goes smoothly. good luck!!!
ReplyDeleteYou have been one busy girl. The chair looks very comfy! I agree with Kodi, you will love it long after the rocking days! Hope you can get rested...well, I guess that's tough since we have school tomorrow! YUCK!!!Only one more though...
ReplyDeleteYou guys are right. We'll have it for 20 years I bet!! So far, it appears that it is for sure Tobin's chair. He will give it up willingly, but for the time being, he looks forward to reclining in it all day while he's at work!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jacob and Abby! It's fun to see you on here!
You do look very comfy in the chair, and it looks great in the room. Don't forget to thank your friends who hosted your shower too, they were super important to getting it all put together! Glad you had a good time. I know that I did! Love you.
ReplyDeletehey guess who this is!! i hope everything is going ok at home. i got the adress from the board you can tell Abby that one.
ReplyDeleteThis is jacob here, i went turkey hunting on saturday before school and didn't see a thing. Then i went again on sunday and heard a bunch of them, but still didn't see any. After i went hunting i had to go to work for eight hours, it was horrible. But i got to ride. Finally i got done riding then i went to church since i missed it in the morning. today i am so tired.Oh i almost forgot that chair looks so comfy.
ReplyDeleteHey you are only a couple of days from hitting the 30 month mark! I was so excited to hit that because I felt like finally I was in the homestretch. The 30's sound so much better for some reason - maybe its because its basically the last set of numbers you have to go through.
ReplyDeleteYour shower sounded really great.
My husband is also trying to get last minute "guy" stuff in too. This weekend he is going camping with some friends, and then he is running his last marathon on the 17th. I'm a bit nervous about that one because its so close to my duedate, but he assures me he'll have his phone on him and can stop at any time. It's an ultramarathon though - he's running a freaking 40 miles. Arghhhhhh. Oh well, what can I do? He's been training so hard for it I don't feel like I can tell him no.
To answer your question I had idea that my baby's head was down. So it didn't hurt. But then again mine has always been so active that maybe I just got used to him kicking and prodding all of the time. I still can't tell if he has "dropped" yet or not. I have my 34 week appt tomorrow and I'm going to ask my doctor.
Peaches....nope just plain. :)
P.S. I can't type. I meant to say I had NO idea that the baby's head had turned down. ;)
ReplyDeleteHAHA!! I just created a blog title with the exact same heading!!
