Tobin and I got to hear the heartbeat again today. It seemed slower than last month. Overall, the doctor was very happy with the heartbeat sound and my measurements. He also said that I am right on track for my weight, one pound per week. This was great news for both of us, and even surprised Tobin. haha He told us to start thinking about what our decision will be for genetic counseling. Also, they do not do the 3-D ultrasounds there yet. They have the equipment and have been trained in CA, but for some reason, they will not be ready in 10 weeks when the timing will be right for me. I will be 18 weeks tomorrow. So, the ultrasound for finding out the sex of our baby is next Wednesday (the day before Valentine's). We can't wait for that news!!!!!!
Last weekend became a 4-day weekend due to snow and a little ice. I was able to do some scrapbooking, but mostly just relaxed, went to the gym some, and shopped for a rocking chair or glider. Here are a couple layouts that I finished; the second one is an "Allison" design:

ReplyDeleteThat's weird that they told you they don't do the 3D ultrasounds yet because they did for us during my ultrasound weeks ago! It's pretty cool!

No pictures or video, you couldn't see much since I was only 17 weeks. She said when I have the next ultrasound it would be lot more clear.

WOW! I had not heard that the date was confirmed for findng out the sex!!!!!! I am beside myself with anticipation. I have been anxious to get the plans going once you know! Love you!
ReplyDeleteMel, we are taking Tobin's mom with us since you took mom. Tobin's mom didn't have girls and didn't get to go with Sonja, so at least she will get to experience it. Of course, we will call the family as soon as we leave there!
ReplyDeleteI talked to the higher ups today and I found out that they can do the 3-D ultrasounds, but not for the fun of it. They are an extra $250 and not covered by most insurance. They do them in scary situations or when they really need to see something from all angles for diagnostic purposes, but not just for the pics or video yet. They have never done them for patients with no just cause, except for when the doctors first got back from CA and they were trying it out. But, from now on, they aren't ready to market it as a cool option to the regular 2D. So, Allison, I think you were one lucky duck!!
