Good part of my day: Tobin and I went to a movie tonight! Amazing that I got him out of the house and NOT to Bass Pro. We saw Knocked Up and it was hysterical!!!!!!!!!!! He said it was pretty good for a chick flick and had enough guy material in it to make it tolerable, even though it was predictable. I thought it was great! I teach a lot of that reproduction material, with no personal experience, but it was a funny movie either way.Bad part of my day: I had the lovely job of going through
the contents of the vacuum cleaner bag, with my bare hands, and the bag was full. Tobin decided that the long shag living room rug was a good place to set his wedding ring and then forgot where he placed it. So, since this makes him sick and he gets dry heaves, I had to be the strong one to sift through the dog and cat hair, cat litter, and God knows what else! BTW, his ring was in the last inch of material I went through and it was mangled. Can you tell this made me pissy? lol
good thing tobin discovered his ring was missing before you threw the bag away. you said it was mangled, so I'm guessing you have to get a new one now?
ReplyDeleteyes, we do. he wanted it for a keepsake, but it hurt his finger anyway.
ReplyDeleteoh shoot! i ALWAYS worry about losing my wedding ring or the diamond out of it. i'm kind of paranoid about the whole thing!
ReplyDeletewell, we had such a spontaneous wedding that the rings are more sentimental than valuable. in fact, we picked them up in branson on the way to arkansas. they cost less than $40 together from peace frogs!!! i am still wearing mine because it means more to be in memories than monetary value. i don't care if people are impressed with my ring or not, but someday i will get a nice one. maybe an anniversary. every time i consider getting another one, i come up with other things to do with money than buy a diamond ring. like, build a deck, put siding on the house, new guttering, a raised flower bed along the front of the house....you can see it is not a priority. LOL to be honest, i've had the expensive ring and a crappy marriage. now, it's the reverse and i couldn't be happier about it. :)
ReplyDeleteLosing a wedding ring is not fun...I am speaking from experience. Seriously, it has been one of the hardest things I have ever dealt with. I keep telling myself it is only a symbol...but it's still hard. I don't want a new one...I want mine back.
ReplyDeleteI know exactly what you mean. I want him to have the exact one I put on his finger that day! Not a replacement, even if the replacement is nicer...it wasn't there the day we made our promises, so it is just not the same.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree about the wedding rings. I would be devastated if I lost mine. Even though we didn't exchange rings when we got married, the story behind it is so important to me!
ReplyDeleteI want to see Knocked Up so bad!! I think it looks hilarious!!
Nobody commented on the tomatoes! LOL.... They DO look good though!! Sorry about the ring, that's a bummer. Is Tobin upset or just embarrassed? What now? Maybe you can get a white gold comfort fit one from Wal-Mart? The comment about nice ring and crappy marriage made me smile...
ReplyDeleteHe is a tad bit of both, but he did get a wild hair and found one online that he liked. I came home from scrapbook club last night and found that he had ordered it, and it will be here this coming Tuesday! We'll keep the mangled one in my jewelry box, I guess.
ReplyDeleteHope you've had some home-grown tomatoes down there!
