Tobin had the day off yesterday, so we took a little road trip up to the Harry S. Truman State Park and checked out a cabin for sale on Lake Ozark. The state park was nothing to shout about, but the little cabin was a possibility. We'll have to wait and see about that. We had to get back in time for his band practice, so that allowed me to finish this spread and exercise before dark. I was able to jog the mile loop with the dogs and then ride my bike for the same loop before it was just too dark to see. SIDENOTE: If you blow up the pic of the DMC floss, you can see some of the lovely holes I have poked into the kitchen table this summer. Apparently my paper piercer goes all the way through my cork and makes the exact same design on the table. So, I have stars and swirls permanantly poked into the table. Tobin is NOT pleased!
I started giggling at the poking holes in the table!! Too funny!!
ReplyDeleteMom just gave me two huge ziploc bags full of floss. I'm pretty sure I'll never have to buy anymore. I organize mine the same way you do and because I'm a organization freak, they are all in color order!
Love the layout!! Great design!
Thanks! I've needed to do that layout for two years! LOL I thought about doing the colors according to the spectrum, ROYGBIV, but it was too much work. :)
ReplyDeleteHey Holly! That is too funny! My husband wouldn't think so either. I can't believe it pokes through like that. I have a cutting mat that I put down when I pierce holes. I haven't ever had any trouble. Maybe you should try one of those:)
ReplyDeletethat is funny! i told Trai about it and he raised his eyebrows as if to say, " you better not do that." ;)
ReplyDeleteyou are in DMC floss heaven. I love to stitch and i only have like 6 colors total. makes me feel like a dork to see you with all those to choose from!
Amy, how thick is your cutting mat and what is it made of. My mat was just cork. I currently have the cloth placemats over my "dining-room table designs" mainly so it isn't a constant reminder.
ReplyDeleteLove the layout! I may have to do the same one too, eventually....LOL. Yes, I am interested in the floss for sure. But part of the deal will have to be that you teach me how to use it! I have my circle cutter mat, will that work to prevent holes in my table??
ReplyDeleteBoy, I don't think so...there is a thicker cork mat at Hobby Lobby...that's the only place I've seen them. I'll check around. I can show you easily; it's not hard at all. Maybe time-consuming, but just your basic back-stitch. The paper piercer is the key. I used a push pin for ages (too cheap to buy the piercer)and it hurts your finger!
ReplyDeleteHmmm, good to know b/c that is exactly what I had planned to use! How much do piercers cost??
