We have air conditioning!!

Finally finished this spread from our trip to Fort Rucker a few weeks ago.
One would think that implies that I am current with my pictures and
scrapbooking, but no such luck.

Praise the Lord! Seriously. As soon as the a/c men left, we loaded up and went on a quick kayak trip. Tobin was in a weird mood all day: I guess because he had taken the day off and made all these plans, but instead, he was lying on the couch waiting on the air conditioning men to finish. We were also hungry and didn't want to eat in front of them.

Once out on the water, I read a scrapbook magazine and Tobin fished a little bit. I guess a Great Blue Heron flew within 25 feet of me, but I was pretty engrossed in my magazine, much to Tobin's amazement. I am kind of surprised at that fact, too. I am usually pretty alert to nature when in the outdoors! I was amazed to see where the water lines were from the recent rains. I even saw a little turtle swim up toward my kayak, but I told Tobin he was there and I guess my voice scared the lil' guy off. It was a relaxing float and we were able to catch a few rays.

  1. so glad to hear you finally got some AC...it will be good sleepin tonight! :)

your new page is really cool. i love the cross in the middle...very classy.

glad you got to go out on the water, even if it wasn't at your preferred destination. my family made another trip to see my grandparents. my grandpa is doing worse. he was still in his pj's and couldn't hardly get out of bed. he cried b/c he couldn't stay up to visit with us very long. it was so sad!

  2. Thanks Kodi! The page that was my inspiraton just had one strip, but it just seemed right to make it into a cross. God has really watched out for us on many trips to and from Alabama AND kept my sister's family safe.

You know, we only have it on 76, but compared to what it has been, the simple lack of humidity makes all the difference!

Very sad to hear about your g-pa. Does Emmarie have any memories of him in good health?

  3. well, the page turned out great. isn't it funny how you start out with an idea and it totally transforms into something new and wonderful?

i don't know that emmarie will remember him, but i've got some great pictures of the two of them playing the fiddle together and having a tea party. i brought my camera in today, but he was in no shape for pictures and that's not how i want to remember him anyway.

what mag were you so into while on the water today?

  4. I so love getting into books/mags while on the water. That is my number one favorite thing to do when I am laying on a float or on our dock. I have actually read nine books since getting out of school. I don't read everyday either:)

  5. Hate to be a bother, but you really must fix the ribbons and wings photo. The whole picture is upside down! The wings go on top of the ribbons, take a look... hee hee.
