I am happy with most of it, but my own handwriting was in between the brackets and it had to go. It was uneven and I just didn't like it. So, I cut it out and bent back the cardstock. Now, it is a little close to the brackets and I am not sure the light green paper that I typed on matches....what are your thoughts?????
AFTER:
SOOO, now I am happy with it. I just got rid of the brackets and inked the edge of the torn edge. That drew enough attention to the journaling. Thanks for your input everyone!
Holly, I think your layout looks nice. If you aren't happy with your journaling, have you thought about moving the brackets inside of the space rather than outside? I think that would make it stand out more. Just a thought:)
ReplyDeleteOkay, I just looked at it again, and if you don't want to redo anything, here is another thought. ( I hate redoing things) Maybe stitch around your journaling to match your stitching around the border of the layout.
ReplyDeleteI think that the color behind the journaling is fine. It picks up the color blocks to the right, and you have the darker blue behind "long" to distract as well. If you are not happy with it, why not just put something even larger over the whole section of brackets and journaling and start over? If it will bug you a year from now then change it now.
ReplyDeleteWOW! Thanks guys! I really appreciate that. That gives me some things to mull over....
ReplyDeletei think the page looks great! but i'm with everyone else...if it's bothering you, change it, b/c it will bother you everytime you look at it!
ReplyDeleteI think all of your work is excellent....not sure why you are SO anal about everything, but guess it is just your nature...maybe that is why they are all great!!!
ReplyDeleteMy patience level is just not any where close to yours, and I didn't realize that yours was as good as it is, ha.
love ya, Mom
So you DID go with the idea of covering the whole area? Explain how you did it. It looks like the paper is peeled back and the journaling is poking thru underneath. I'm curious about the dealio.
ReplyDeleteI used an exacto knife to cut out my original handwriting. Then, I did what you said...peeled and folded back the edges and inked them. I just adhered the new journaling to the back of the page so it would show thru.
